There is also the noise to consider when buying a petrol hedge trimmer,( they are noisy to use) but if you have a hedge with very thick branches then these will do the job.

The petrol type is a bit more expensive than the electric versions of hedge trimmer, this is due to the engine it uses to power the trimmer and the more substantial build of frame work to accommodate it.

The weight is a big factor with this type of trimmer, you should realize that cutting a reasonably big hedge can be hard on your arms and back, and that you need to be reasonably fit to use this type of trimmer.
